Who Are We?
Malevolence is a raiding guild but we have never considered ourselves to be hardcore. Our scheduled raids every week are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings with invites beginning at 8.45pm server time. This allows those who work or who have families plenty of time to get prepared before raids. Our raids are scheduled to finish at 12am server time, but occasionaly can be longer or shorter.

Our guild is lead by Thanehand, who is helped with guild administration by a number of officers.

What we expect from you
For anyone wishing to join us we require that you can maintain a raid attendance rate of at least 90% as we push further into 25 man instances and that you are punctual for all raids and can stay until the scheduled raid end as people leaving early disrupts progress badly. Self-sufficiency is a must as we all know that raids cost in gold and consumables so the ability to farm mats or create your own pots is really helpful.

Equipment and gearing-up
For guild progression its in everyone's best interest for loots to be shared around to improve overall raid performance. People who are purely in it for themselves are of no interest to us... there is no 'I' in 'team'. We always try to be fair and queries will always be listened to with open minds.

Trial periods
If you are accepted into Malevolence, you will be given the rank of 'Raider Trial' and serve a trial period of approximately 3-4 weeks. During this time we can evaluate your abilities, raid attendance and interaction and you can decide if we are the right guild for you. After this time a decision will be made and you will be informed as to whether you will be promoted to full 'Raider' status or asked to leave.

Section 1: Character Information

1. Please give us the details of the character you wish to apply with. This should be what you regard as your 'main' character - we are not looking to be a home for your 'alt' while your main raids with another guild

2. How long have you played WoW and what is the played time for this character (/played)?

3. What is your current talent spec? Are you prepared to re-spec to benefit the guild?

4. What is the current state of your gear/equipment? Please supply a link to your Armory page, list any extra gear (resistance gear for tanks for example), and explain anything that may not be apparent.

5. What influenced your choice and current level of trade professions?

6. What other guilds have you been a member of? Why did you leave them?

7. Do you have any serious 'alt' characters you would be bringing with you?

Section 2: Personal Information

1. How old are you? Please state your correct age at the time of your application and do not just put a different remark such as 'Old Enough'. We ask that all new recruits be at least 18 years old.

2. Can you raid from 20:30 - 00:00 server time, 3 nights a week? (current raid nights are Thursday, Sunday and Monday, with optional 10mans on Wednesdays). When are you consistently unavailable?

3. Tell us more about yourself. What do you do at work or go to school? What do you enjoy?

4. How regularly will you read the forums? Do you contribute to you current guild’s forums?

5. Do you have any sponsors within the guild?

6. Where did you hear about us? (In game? TT? Friend?)

Section 3: Raiding

1. What is your current experience in raiding in WotLK? How long have you been raiding?

2. What previous raiding experience do you have?  Please list pre-WotLK as well as it shows your experience.

3. Ventrilo is used for every raid so everyone MUST have this software AND the ability to listen as a minimum. Does this cause a problem? Will you talk on Vent?

4. What Mods do you currently use? Do you know how to install new ones and do you have a client updater (such as Curse Client)?

5. Explain what you perceive your character's role in endgame content to be. Explain how your current gear and talent choices help with performing that role and any ways in which you are still working on improving your character.

6. Describe what you would to do to prepare for a raid, in particular for attempts on a new boss.

7. Pick a boss fight you are currently working on. Explain what tactics you are using, where it is going well/badly at the moment, and what you think could be done to finally defeat the boss.

8. Explain what you think are the most important aspects of a Raid group.

9. Finally, what are your goals for WotlK?
